13 Weeks Today!

Highlights of the week:

-She is picking things up at lightening speed again this week.

-She is fascinated by shiny and reflective things, she is especially enchanted by my Zigg canteen and my green tea cup.

-She has begun grabbing for toys a little bit, but still isn't that interested.

-She has started to enjoy being read to.

-She can take the bottle in and out of her mouth with her hands.

-She has started making 'raspberries' and it is hilarious.

-She loves to spend most of her time on her tummy and standing (assisted, of course) and has little patience for being on her back.

-She now 'climbs' out of her boppy (demonstrated in a earlier post)

-Abe thinks she will start crawling any day now, she has all the elements she just needs to put them together.

-As you can see Scarlett sucks her one index finger, it is very dainty.

-In terms of fussiness, we would say it's a couple great days and a couple fussy days.

*on a technical note we are unable to upload videos, which is a bummer.

12 Weeks Old Today!

This has been a huge week in terms of development. She is making connections so fast, it's hard to remember all of the little advances but, such a treat to see them happening. These are just a couple of the big ones.

Highlights of the Week:

-She has started noticing toys and objects besides people. She loves her activity center and, of course, Edgar.

-She has completely transitioned to her crib full time and seems to be fine with it.

-Her laugh has changed from Cookie Monster to what sounds like a 'ha' then a squeal, this happens whenever you sing to her Jay-Z's 'Jigga What' or 'Can I Get a What What', she thinks it's hilarious especially since Mommy has no flow.

-She is sitting up a little bit and is an old pro at rolling over to and fro. She loves chilling on her stomach.

-She is trying to crawl! As her pediatrician said she isn't colicky she just wants to be 6 months old! She gets that from her mother who wants things yesterday.

-She is still our little fuss budget we were hoping that it would lessen but, not yet, maybe when she goes off to college? Her fits started being more random, if that is to be believed. Instead of ramping up to level 10 freak out she now starts at a ten...fun! As someone said, she is passionate...that's for sure!

11 Weeks Old Today!

Highlights of the week:

-Scarlett decided of her own accord to drop her 3am feeding! She now has been sleeping between 5-8 hours a night (more 5 hour stretches than 8's but, who's counting?)

-She is officially a flipper-over-er front to back, back to front, 180's she is a little dare devil.

-In the mornings she is still talking a blue streak to herself in the moses basket.

-lots more talking, laughing, it is amazing to see her make connections

-she is now has a routine of: eat, activity, nap...lather, rinse, repeat, throughout the day.

-I would say a pretty beautiful week in terms of temperament (two fussy days out of seven)

10 weeks old today!

Highlights from the week:

-Scout has begun talking/cooing a blue streak. I caught her having a very serious discussion with her sleep sheep. In the mornings we can hear her reciting poetry or perhaps the Gettysburg Address with great gusto.

-She has begun to flip herself over, much to my chagrin. As wonderful as it is for her to be learning things everyday, this means no more leaving her on the bed to chill while I try and get stuff done.

-The semblance of a schedule may be starting to form, maybe.

-All in all a pretty good week, dare I say not quite as fussy?

-We adults had our first date since the wee one was born, thanks to Bubby the babysitter!

9 Weeks Old Today! UPDATE

Highlights of the week

-The most exciting news is that Scout started to laugh starting late this week. She laughs exactly like Cookie Monster or Ernie, it's the sweetest

-The cutest thing is her discovery of 'lovies' it's adorable

-Daddy was away for a couple nights and Scout put Mommy through her paces

-Very Fussy Week

-When Daddy came back slept 7 hours straight, again, thank you Scout!

8 Weeks Old Today!

Highlights of the Week:

-Scout is enjoying our nighttime ritual of tubby time before one of her bedtimes.

-She is holding up her head a lot more when she is on her tummy.

-She seems to be focusing and seeing farther distances.

-If one of us is holding her she will turn her head to look at the other one (very cute).

-All in all, she had a pretty fussy week, but, she has been having a good morning so, we'll take it!

7 weeks old TODAY!

Some notable news from the last week:

-Slept 8 hours straight (thank you Scout!) Thursday night.

-Her go to position has changed from fist on chin to raising her arms in the air.

-We had our first explosive poop incident, which left a path of destruction in its wake. Abe is still suffering from PTSD.

-Lots more social smiling and, dare I say, slightly less fussy? What can we say our little one is mercurial!
