Scarlett Hangs Out in Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)

Scout is fully flipping over and now loves to hang out in cobra, not even baby cobra but full on cobra. It is quite adorable.

Scarlett's Big Girl Crib!

The big news it that Scarlett is transitioning into her big girl crib! It has been going pretty well, although she is a bit fussy (so what else is new?). We are starting with just naps in the moses basket in the crib. Very exciting. Soon her hour long morning orations at 5am will be heard through a monitor rather than right next to our ears. She is fascinated by the mobile which, of course, makes my heart leap up. Our little girl is growing up so fast!

11 Weeks Old Today!

Highlights of the week:

-Scarlett decided of her own accord to drop her 3am feeding! She now has been sleeping between 5-8 hours a night (more 5 hour stretches than 8's but, who's counting?)

-She is officially a flipper-over-er front to back, back to front, 180's she is a little dare devil.

-In the mornings she is still talking a blue streak to herself in the moses basket.

-lots more talking, laughing, it is amazing to see her make connections

-she is now has a routine of: eat, activity, nap...lather, rinse, repeat, throughout the day.

-I would say a pretty beautiful week in terms of temperament (two fussy days out of seven)

Because it's Abe's Birthday we won't tell him that his wife beater is inside out, or maybe they are supposed to be that way. Happy Birthday Abe!

Aunt Kate made her this snow flower lovey, as we have mentioned before. it is truly exquisite. I love that Scarlett loves it so but I am sad that it will inevitably be destroyed. It is a true work of art.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there! We love you all.

10 weeks old today!

Highlights from the week:

-Scout has begun talking/cooing a blue streak. I caught her having a very serious discussion with her sleep sheep. In the mornings we can hear her reciting poetry or perhaps the Gettysburg Address with great gusto.

-She has begun to flip herself over, much to my chagrin. As wonderful as it is for her to be learning things everyday, this means no more leaving her on the bed to chill while I try and get stuff done.

-The semblance of a schedule may be starting to form, maybe.

-All in all a pretty good week, dare I say not quite as fussy?

-We adults had our first date since the wee one was born, thanks to Bubby the babysitter!

2 month check up with vaccines :(

Scarlett got through her two month check up like a champ! The doctor said she is perfect, she even got through the horrible vaccinations with flying colors. It broke my heart to see her in pain, my sweet little pin cushion!

Vitals:

Height: 22.5 inches

Weight: 10.5 pounds

Excellent head control and tracking, she reads at a 5th grade level!

Uncle Mike & Aunt Kate Visit!

We all had a wonderful weekend with our besties! Scout was so happy to meet her Unky Mike & Aunty Kate. She can't wait to see Crumbhorn Mountain in August.

9 Weeks Old Today! UPDATE

Highlights of the week

-The most exciting news is that Scout started to laugh starting late this week. She laughs exactly like Cookie Monster or Ernie, it's the sweetest

-The cutest thing is her discovery of 'lovies' it's adorable

-Daddy was away for a couple nights and Scout put Mommy through her paces

-Very Fussy Week

-When Daddy came back slept 7 hours straight, again, thank you Scout!
